We allow the children to free play during the day, so staff will be distributed and engaged throughout the playroom and garden, please ring the bell if the gate is locked.
If the door is not manned, please ring the bell and be patient whilst we round your child and their belongings up.
Should you wish to collect early (anything 30 minutes before your usual collection time), please call or let us know on drop off. This allows us to prepare your child for a change in routine and plan our day accordingly.
Dress for mess not to impress
We believe in allowing our children to have as much outside play as possible. As such our garden is open all day all year round. We are a messy pre-school where puddle splashing, mud kitchen, sensory play, water play and general exploration is encouraged. Because of this we recommend old clothes, wellies and puddle suits. It is also best to bring a bag with at least one change of clothes all year round.
We are a shoeless setting, this means that there are no shoes worn indoors. As such children need to remove their shoes on coming into the setting. They may wear soft indoor shoes or slippers if desired. We also require a pair of outdoor shoes and/or wellies to be left at the setting.
Our staff encourage independent, resilient and curious learners giving the children support and helping them develop at an age and ability appropriate rate. We learn through playing and following the children’s interests.

Snack time
We have a sit down rolling snack time during the morning
We offer bread sticks with three pieces of fruit and vegetables, this is usually pieces of apple, banana, carrot, cucumber, grapes and pear, although this can vary. Water or milk is available to drink.
We do ask for families to donate fruit and/or vegetables (that can be eaten raw), when they feel able to. Not only does this reduce preschool costs, but also allows the children to share their favourites, which others may not always get to experience.
We are happy to cater for any dietary requirements such as dairy allergies, and endeavour to provide a nut free environment.
Drinking water is available at all times throughout the day. Children will need to bring a named water bottle each session
Please note – to comply with new regulations re: allergies – the crackers and bread that we use contain gluten and the milk and cheese that we serve are dairy items. Vegan cheese is also provided.
Lunch Club
11:30am – 13:00pm
We do not provide lunch for the children. Any child staying for lunch or joining us for lunch will need to bring a packed lunch. Those who come for a morning session and stay for lunch, we recommend that cool packs are placed in their lunchbox, as they are stored in the stage room, which can become quite warm.
We run a rolling lunch, children join us 8 at a time. As children finish their lunch another child is invited to join us. Children are encouraged to be independent when eating, opening packages and boxes with support if necessary. Also to pack away their lunch boxes.
Lunch is a social time and two staff will be present modelling and supporting the children
